Professor Cate Taylor

Cate is a child health researcher dedicated to creating knowledge about child health, development and learning for the benefit of children and their families. She holds professorial appointments at the Telethon Kids Institute and The University of Western Australia. She specialises in large-scale longitudinal studies of children’s health, development, education and wellbeing, especially children’s language and literacy development. Her translational research is conducted in partnership with government agencies and focuses on the role of early childhood services in supporting families and young children. She began her career as a pediatric speech pathologist working with children and families in health and education settings.
