Life Course Centre researcher receives award for outstanding research thesis
Congratulations to Life Course Centre Research Fellow Dr Michelle Sydes who was recently selected by The University of Queensland Graduate School as a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Higher Degree by Research Theses.
This award gives formal recognition to outstanding PhD and MPhil graduates of The University of Queensland who have been commended by their thesis examiners. All examiners can nominate a candidate for the Dean’s award if they feel the standard of the thesis is exceptional and makes an outstanding contribution to the field of research.
Michelle, who is based in the UQ School of Social Science, was honoured for her 2017 thesis: The Immigration-Crime Myth: Exploring the Impact of Immigration on Neighbourhood Violence.
