Collecting and using child and family data to enhance children's wellbeing

Professor Cate Taylor from Telethon Kids Institute is joining us to discuss current data on the health, education and wellbeing of young children and families.

The Northern Early Years Group (Tas) Incorporated (NEYG) is a group of services and agencies working with young children and their families across Northern Tasmania. The group includes people who work in government services, schools, UTas, TAFE and the VET sector, neighbour-hood houses, parents and carers and various community organisations.

Our vision for the region is:
By 2020 Northern Tasmanian Children aged 0-5 years will have reached or exceeded national benchmarks in the areas of health, development and education.

We encourage and support government and communities, parents and children to work together so collectively we can improve the health, wellbeing and future prospects our young children. We welcome anyone sharing these goals to join our group.

  • We aim to achieve the following:
  • Accessible, welcoming services,
  • Services linked up and working together across the region,
  • Services are targeted at those most in need,
  • Speaking up about issues affecting young children and parents
  • Fostering research
